Dr. Pablo Gonzalez graduated as a Biochemist at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile where he also did his Ph.D. in Molecular Genetics and Microbiology. Then, he performed ​​postdoctoral training at the same university and later on a postdoctorate at the Howard Hughes Medical Institute at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York.
He is currently an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Biological Sciences, Department of Molecular Genetics and Microbiology at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and Associate Investigator at the Millennium Institute on Immunology and Immunotherapy. He was selected as a World Economic Forum (WEF) Young Scientist in 2017 and Young Affiliate of the World Academy of Sciences (TWAS) the same year. His research is focused on developing novel strategies to prevent, diagnose and treat herpes simplex virus type 2.
